Off road challenge

Off Road Challenge is a driving game where you play as a monster truck crawling over rocky terrain. While doing so you have to manage your speed to not flip over as well your fuel so you can make it to the end of the route.
This is the project I am most proud of as an exercise in Level Design. I was tasked with creating 25 unique levels in 5 different environments with various different obstacles and hazards for the player to interact with. These included rock formations, swinging log bridges, jumps and destructable objects.
I worked closeley with the programmers to create a great set of custom level design tools and worked with terrain editors, splines and custom scripts to create the levels. We also developed an efficient workflow between design an art so I could create the playable area’ before passing it to the art team for decorating.
As well as level design I was also heavily involved in the balancing of the fuel system and economy. I spent a lot of time working on tutorialisation of the speed mechanincs and camera settings to ensure it felt engaging and flowed nicely.
